EEF Active Remote Sensing group belongs to the Signal Theory and Communications Department (TSC) at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. Barcelona, SPAIN. Major research work is carried out at Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), interferometry (InSAR), radar polarimetry (PolSAR), classification techniques, field and laboratory scatterometer measurements, etc.

  • The 2005 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium was held in Seoul, Korea (25-29 July)
The group also performs reseach in more theoretical topics winthin the SAR framework:


  • Developent of general Speckle Noise models for SAR related data.
  • Definition of high-spatial resolution Speckle filters for InSAR and PolSAR data.
  • Definition of differential interferometry algorithms for both, space- and air-borne SAR sensors.
  • Buried mine detection.
