Professor Hyuk Park working with Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC-BarcelonaTech) was selected as the winner of the 15th Chon-Hoon Cho Academic Award.

KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) said it will open an awards ceremony for Professor Park, who was selected as the winner of the Chon-Hoon Cho academic prize in the conference room on the first floor of the main building of KAIST on the morning of May13th.

Professor Park has published more than 50 SCIpapers in the field of satellite remote sensing, Earth observation, and Cube Satellite (Cubsat) development. He has published 110 academic papers and has been recognized for his accomplishments in 15 research and development projects organized by the European Union (EU) and European Space Agency (ESA).

 Professor Park was also selected as the "Juan de la Cierva" fellow of the Spanish government's new doctoral research support program in 2012. In 2017, he was selected as a "Ramon y Cajal" fellow in the Spanish government support research institute and university tenure-track selection program.
 
The KAIST Medal of Honor Award was established in May 2003 for Chon-Hoon Cho, the honorary doctor who died in unexpected accidents while conducting research at the KAIST Rocket Laboratory. Professor Cho Dong-Gil, his father's father, made a donation of KRW 478 million, which was donated to the KAIST as an academic fund. Since 2005, they have been awarding young scientists who have accomplished outstanding achievements in aerospace engineering every year.
